“You speak holy words, Kadeisha. You speak holy words. Holy words that call people toward life.”

- a writing sister

Hey there! I’m Kadeisha, and I am a lover of proclamation through words, dance, song, and being. I am a New Jersey native who calls North Carolina home. I still wish I didn’t have to pump my own gas in Durham and I sometimes chase the sun in Ghana when the weather in NC moves from the beautiful spring to fall temperatures and embraces a semblance of winter.

I believe in the power of naming. Why does God take great care in naming things in the Creation narratives? My name, Kadeisha, is Hebrew meaning “holy one.” The story of how I found this out is quite interesting, ask me about it and I’ll tell you. But just as my name prophesies, I am called to proclaim holy words. I don’t always succeed at that but I have learned to lean into the Spirit of God and utter the loving and glorious mysteries of God on the pages of hearts, journals, and publications.

I’m currently working on my memoir and look forward to sharing it with those who need to be set free from the bondage of religious, generational, and historical trauma that may keep them from embracing the healing God provides in mind, body, and spirit. My memoir will explore the intersections of faith and mental health through the lens of my lived and professional experience as a minister, psychotherapist, and wounded healer.

Now that you know a bit about me as a creative, here’s a little more about me personally:

I love the Lord. At my core I am a prophetic worshiper, healer, and spiritual midwife/coach. God has graced me with a friend, Nana Gyamfi, I have the honor of covenanting with as wife. To this union God has blessed us with a son, Kwame, and daughter, Yaa.
